The reserve boost many free barbecue facilities dotted around its many attractions.  Located within the reserve is Lake Alexander which provides a safe all year swimming hole and is a popular place to watch the sunset. Many people are unaware that Australia was extensively bomded during World War II. The threat of a Japanese invasion of Australia through Darwin makes East Point Reserve an interesting place to see the remanants of war.
