The Territory has more
than 60 species of mammals, 289 species of birds and 132 species
of reptiles, 25 different species of frogs, and an estimated 10,000
species of insects as well as many more different species of fish.
The Northern Territory is popular if you wish to go fishing, interested
in wildlife photography or bird watching.
On the flood plains, the water lily covered billabong's are stunning
and attract vast flocks of birds for the majority of the year.
The Northern Territory is famous for its frilled necked lizards,
emu's, dingoes, water buffalos and the well known Saltwater Crocodiles.
When the wet season begins between November and March the Northern
Territory presents a totally different scenery as an abundance
of wildlife come to life.
