Gunlom
Falls Index.
View this waterfall from the
plunge pool at the base, or climb to the top for views over South
Alligator valley. The falls flow into Waterfall creek and
was the location where Paul hogan made the now famous Crocodile
scene in the movie Crocodile Dundee.
Located in the southern section of the Park, Gunlom is a fascinating
and beautiful area where the clear waters of Waterfall Creek tumble
70m into a deep permanent pool fringed by pandanus palms and stringy
barks and inhabited by numerous large fish. Further south, remnants
of extensive uranium mining in the area can be seen at El Sherana,
Guratba ( Coronation Hill ) and along the track to Koolpin Gorge.
Camping and picnic areas are provided here with plenty of space
and excellent facilities.
